After spending forever umming and ahhhing over what I wanted to do and where I wanted to go with my blog, I have made the plunge and migrated to WordPress. Robyn Caitlin 2.0 is here! Back at the beginning of the year I said that I wanted my blog to make a comeback in my life, and while we may now be in August, that time has finally arrived. For so long I haven’t had the desire to post on my blog or create new content for it because of the lack of control over design and additional features with Blogger. I started off on Blogger back in 2011 because I read that it was easier for blogging newbies to use and understand. But as the years have gone on I realised more and more that WordPress is where I needed and wanted to be.
The problem was, I didn’t know how to get my blog there. I read online posts by others that had migrated to WordPress and they said it’s quite a complicated process, and I’m not the most tech savvy person when it comes to coding. So I left it and left it, and didn’t post because I wasn’t happy with how my blog looked on mobile and not knowing really where to start with the SEO side of things.
That was until I spotted a tweet about Pipdig‘s migration services. For the last iteration of my blog, I had a Pipdig Blogger theme and was super pleased with it, so when I clicked onto Pipdig’s website and saw that the migration service was on offer I knew I just had to take the plunge finally if I ever wanted to get back to posting on my blog. And here we are! I’m so unbelievably happy with my new blog and all the possibilities of it, and the service from Pipdig was so smooth, every little question I had was answered and I think the cost was very reasonable. I would recommend them to anyone thinking about having their blog migrated to WordPress from Blogger, or even if you’re just on the lookout for a new blog theme.
Before I ‘officially announced’ my new blog so to speak, I have been doing some updating work to get my old posts formatted and refreshed, and some tinkering about with the look of it all to make it my own. But please do bear with me as there’s still a lot of updating I need to do to make it all optimised and showing properly. If you go back a few years I can’t be held accountable for any eyesores! I will be working gradually through this so everything will be looking brand spanking new in the near future hopefully.
