I don’t do a lot of makeup related posts on my blog, and I don’t profess to know a lot about it. Which is the main reason I don’t talk about it that much. I just muddle along and do what works for me really! As you can see, I tend to stick to drugstore/high street makeup for the most part, I’m definitely more of a clothes and shoes type of person! But today I thought I would give a little insight into the makeup I couldn’t do without. If I absolutely had to, these are five products I would narrow it down to…
1. Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer
If you have watched any of my YouTube videos featuring me doing my makeup (I think there’s two), I don’t actually use a foundation base because whatever I put on either is the wrong shade or looks cakey. So I just keep it simple and use a concealer on my blemished areas, and this one is my concealer of choice. I absolutely love it, and I actually prefer it to the drugstore holy grail Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, shock horror I know.
2. Bourjois Delice de Poudre Bronzing Powder in 52
I always dust my face with bronzer to give it a little added colour and this bronzer has been my weapon of choice for quite a while now. It doesn’t have any shimmer so it’s perfect for everyday, it’s not too obvious and it’s quite hard to apply too much in one go so it ticks all my boxes.
3. Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl Pencil in Black
I couldn’t ever do my makeup without eyeliner. I can actually do no mascara but without eyeliner my eyes look non-existent. I use a kohl pencil everyday and at the moment I’m loving this Rimmel one. It goes on really easily and doesn’t smudge, and it’s amazing value.
4. Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless
You can’t buy my all-time favourite mascara in the UK (boo you whore Lancome), so I had to find a substitute. This is the best high-street mascara I have tried, and as soon as I found it, I haven’t ever strayed. My top selling point for mascaras is long lashes and this makes mine look super dooper long. If you haven’t tried it then I highly recommend you do!
5. Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour in Lotus Pink
The only higher end item on my list! I definitely think a bit of blush is a must have to give you a little healthy glow and from all my blushes I think this has to be my fave. I have only ever had my makeup done on a counter twice in my life, and both have been at Laura Mercier. The second time the makeup artist put this on me and I loved it. Its the perfect peachy pink for my skin colour and its so summery!
I know it’s supposed to be a five product face but I would also like to give an honourable mention to Rimmel Stay Matte powder for keeping my oily bits at bay!
I hope you’ve enjoyed this little insight into my makeup bag, what are your absolute must haves?
