Last week we decided to go on a day trip to France. As we only live about half an hour from Dover, and then the ferry crossing is just over an hour to Calais, it isn’t really that far. These are some pictures from the day…

In the morning we spent the day in Le Touquet which is just below Boulogne on the Northern coast of France. Its a beautiful place with some really expensive homes, a small but quaint shopping and restaurant area, and a beautiful beach with a little waterpark. I’ve been there a couple of times before and its just lovely, and the day we went it was boiling hot so it was even nicer than I’ve seen it before. After the morning and lunch in Le Touquet we went back up to Calais mid-afternoon and went to Cite Europe, the shopping centre right near the Channel Tunnel. I used to love it there when I was young but its definitely lost its pull. The shops were half empty and there wern’t many good shops. The best shop there was the big Carrefour supermarket, its so big they even have a little map to help you find things in there. So we had a lovely day in France in the sunshine and we are already thinking of when we can go back. When the ferry crossing is only £30, its not even too expensive to go for the day 🙂
