My 5 Product Face

I don't do a lot of makeup related posts on my blog, and I don't profess to know a lot about it. Which is the main reason I don't talk about it that much. I just muddle along and do what works for me really! As you can see, I tend to stick to drugstore/high street makeup for the most part, I'm definitely more of a clothes and shoes type of person! But today I thought I would give a little insight into the makeup I couldn't do without. If I absolutely had to, these are five products I would narrow it down to...

1. Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer
If you have watched any of my YouTube videos featuring me doing my makeup (I think there's two), I don't actually use a foundation base because whatever I put on either is the wrong shade or looks cakey. So I just keep it simple and use a concealer on my blemished areas, and this one is my concealer of choice. I absolutely love it, and I actually prefer it to the drugstore holy grail Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, shock horror I know.

2. Bourjois Delice de Poudre Bronzing Powder in 52
I always dust my face with bronzer to give it a little added colour and this bronzer has been my weapon of choice for quite a while now. It doesn't have any shimmer so it's perfect for everyday, it's not too obvious and it's quite hard to apply too much in one go so it ticks all my boxes.

3. Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl Pencil in Black
I couldn't ever do my makeup without eyeliner. I can actually do no mascara but without eyeliner my eyes look non-existent. I use a kohl pencil everyday and at the moment I'm loving this Rimmel one. It goes on really easily and doesn't smudge, and it's amazing value.

4. Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless
You can't buy my all-time favourite mascara in the UK (boo you whore Lancome), so I had to find a substitute. This is the best high-street mascara I have tried, and as soon as I found it, I haven't ever strayed. My top selling point for mascaras is long lashes and this makes mine look super dooper long. If you haven't tried it then I highly recommend you do!

5. Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour in Lotus Pink
The only higher end item on my list! I definitely think a bit of blush is a must have to give you a little healthy glow and from all my blushes I think this has to be my fave. I have only ever had my makeup done on a counter twice in my life, and both have been at Laura Mercier. The second time the makeup artist put this on me and I loved it. Its the perfect peachy pink for my skin colour and its so summery!

I know it's supposed to be a five product face but I would also like to give an honourable mention to Rimmel Stay Matte powder for keeping my oily bits at bay!

I hope you've enjoyed this little insight into my makeup bag, what are your absolute must haves?

The Suede Playsuit

This playsuit/dungarees is one of the pieces that I saw in Miss Selfridge's campaign images way back at the start of the year and thought 'I NEED that in my life!'. So religiously I checked the website every couple of days to see if it had come in stock. I seriously am a dedicated shopper! I even tweeted them a couple of times asking when it would be in but they ignored me each time. Terrible social media customer service so nil point for that, but all the point for this gorge suede playsuit!
It isn't made perfectly, the straps don't actually adjust with the buckle so I had to add extra buttonholes to make the straps short enough to fit me, and the zip to get your bum into it is very short so if I get any more junk in my trunk my butt might not get into it again. Despite all this I love love love it!
Would I be as bold as to say it's my favourite purchase of the year so far? Because it might well be!

shoes - PRIMARK

If you watched my 'What I Got For My Birthday' video then you will have seen this crop up. This suit is something I spotted on the River Island Style Studio Instagram but with trousers rather than shorts. I loved the look but wasn't sure if it was a bit full-on for me, and it would have been £100.
Then when the River Island sale came around recently I spotted the jacket on sale and this pair of shorts. At £42 for both I decided to just go for it. When it arrived my mum decided to buy it off me as one of my birthday presents, so that was pretty awesome of her!
It is quite a statement look with all the print going on but I love it! And it's really versatile because you can wear the two pieces separately!
River Island sale, you never fail me!

Finally a new outfit post! And a new layout to boot! I have spent so so long deliberating about whether to buy a template to redesign my blog but in the end I decided I just needed to bite the bullet. I had seen so many people using and saying how great Pipdig are so that was my immediate port of call. The cost of a premade template from Pipdig is also so affordable!
But I became so indecisive and have probably spent months looking on the website and changing my mind about which template I wanted. Again I finally decided this month I just needed to bite the bullet and picked one. So hopefully you like it too! Thanks so much to Pipdig for all your help and your amazing template! I really would 100% recommend using them if you want to get an affordable refresh for your blog.
I've also had a re-jig of my header. The Robin bird absolutely had to stay but I've gone for a more script-y font and a big of colour this time.
After over two years with the same layout and design, I think it was about time for a change and I'm really happy with how it turned out!
