The Best Berlin Christmas Markets

I'm still counting it as Christmas because we haven't had New Year yet, so in the spirit of Christmas, I wanted to squeeze in one last festive-themed post before I have to accept its all over for another year!

While we were in Berlin we tried to visit as many of the Christmas markets as we could, so I thought I'd let you know my pick of the best...

Exploring Palm Springs

Palm Springs 1

After leaving Santa Monica, we headed back inland to Palm Springs. We arrived in the early evening, but due to a problem with our room and having to faff about sorting that out we didn't get much time to look around, but we did have time to make a stop at the diner across the road from our hotel, Rubys...

After arriving in Santa Monica in the early evening we checked into our hotel, the Wyndham at the Pier, and popped out to Third Street Promenade for a quick walk and a spot of dinner. I didn't get many photos that night so I'm skipping straight to the morning of our first full day...

Hiking in Yosemite

Yosemite14

I'm just gonna put it out here at the very beginning, Yosemite is probably the most beautiful place I've ever been (apart from Canada, but I didn't really get out of the car that much to see the beauty of the Canadian Rockies because I was a moody 15 year old a-hole, but that my friends is another story). This however is the story of my first day in one of my new most favourite locations in the world...

Our Final Day In San Francisco

San-Francisco-39

Before we knew it, it was our last day in this beautiful city, and we had so much we still wanted to see. But our first mission of the day was to pick up our hire car in Union Square so we headed down to the cable car to take a final ride...

Day One In San Francisco

San-Francisco-7

When we arrived at our hotel in San Francisco we were excited to see that there was a 24hr Dennys on the ground floor of it. Luke was desperate to go to Dennys again as it's where he went several times when he went to Florida when he was 8, so it was a 'must-do' on our trip, and super convenient that it was in our hotel. The first morning we headed down to start our day with a hefty breakfast.

Arriving in San Francisco

The first of my California blog posts is officially here! I've decided to put them together as a day-by-day diary so I can fully get into what we did, what we ate, where we stayed and what we would recommend. I do also have vlogs to edit so if you fancy things in more of a moving format then keep your eyes peeled for those!

What's In My Hand Luggage

handluggage

Before I went on holiday I filmed a few videos that went up on my YouTube channel over September and I realised I hadn't put them on my blog yet. So in case you fancied a nosy into what I packed in my hand luggage for my trip to California then you check it out below or at YouTube.com/robyncaitlinable. What are your inflight essentials?

The Pink Wall

I HAVE A LAPTOP! Which means I can get back to blogging and videos, finally!
I have also just got back yesterday from a week in the sun with my mum doing nothing but reading, sunbathing and drinking cocktails, pure bliss! But I also feel that I am massively behind because I want to do blog posts all about my trip to California in September that I wasn't able to do when I got home due to the lack of a laptop.
So I thought I would start with the one and only 'kind of' outfit photos that I got while I was in Cali. I had planned to do loads of outfit photos but with all the sightseeing and running around we were doing I didn't really have time to take any outfit photos so instead I am going to put together posts about what we did and where we stayed etc. If you're interested in any of that kind of stuff then those posts should be going up soon!
These photos were taken on our last day of the trip in LA by the Instagram-famous pink wall of Melrose Avenue. After seeing it on so many of the people I follow's Instagrams it was definitely on my must-see list for the trip. It really is crazy bright in real-life and we did spot quite a few people heading there to take pictures. It's the side of the Paul Smith building and is deffo one to check out if you're on Melrose and fancy a few snaps!
I did take a few outfit photos on the holiday with my mum but I think I'll post things chronologically to catch up, so expect lots of California posts, followed by outfit posts from the sunny shores of Cape Verde coming up on my blog.
Hope you're having a lovely week so far!

California Blues & An Update

Untitled

Before I went on my holiday to California for just over two weeks, I scheduled a few posts and mentioned that my laptop had just died and I didn't know when it would be fixed by. Well I've now been home since the 23rd September and I am still minus a laptop. Sorting it out with the insurance and managing to get Apple store appointments is proving long and difficult. So I have no idea when I will be replacing my laptop.
I vlogged the trip and have a ridiculous amount of photos that I want to post but without a laptop that isn't going to be happening. I've managed to borrow Luke's laptop to put this short little post up but I don't think there will be much going up on the blog until I manage to sort out a replacement for my broken laptop. Fingers crossed I can get things sorted soon so I can start all my editing and posting!
It was literally one of the best holidays ever and we are already planning things we want to do for the next time we go back so it's safe to say I am still in major holiday blues mode!
Also, I didn't know what photo to use with this post so I thought I would go with a picture of my first ever In N' Out burger, aka my new fave burger place. Get me back to Cali!

I thought I would try out a new hairstyle, and for those who may have noticed, I have also had my hair coloured. I'm not sure on it, it's not really what I asked for, but then I can't remember the last time I left a hairdressers with what I thought I was going to. So aside from the colour, what do you reckon on the hairstyle? I watched Zoella's half up topknot hair video and thought I would give it a whirl. I have such thin hair though so it didn't come out quite like hers, but I don't hate it. Thumbs up or thumbs down?
This dress is something I have had since forever. I don't even remember when I bought it. I thought it was quite appropriate attire for the new season though. Even if I am still mourning the loss of summer. In the UK anyway, as this post goes up I will still be on holiday so I'll be loving life in the Californian sun still. Don't make me come home!

New Look Wishlist

newlookwishlist
Boots  |  Skirt  |  Trench  |  Bag  |  Tee  |  Flats

When a brand's campaign images are killer, I will want everything in them and be looking at the new in section all the time. For AW15 I adore New Look's campaign images and I've been lusting over quite a few of their new pieces recently. So I thought I would share them with you! There definitely is a bit of a camel, black and burgundy theme going on. While I may not like all the layers you need to wear in the Autumn/Winter, the cold weather and the dark mornings and nights, I do love all the rich colours of the season!
There was also the most gorge leopard print skirt but it's already gone out of stock and says it won't be available to buy again. Note to self: This is why you buy at first sight.

Camo & Denim

shirt - MATALAN

skirt - ASOS
trainers - ADIDAS STAN SMITHS

It's now officially the time of year when I need to layer clothing, hence the t-shirt under the shirt. That's the only way I can brave bare legs in the Autumn. I'm such a cold person, I think most other people must have thicker skin or something than me because I'm cold pretty much the majority of the year. Air con is one of my deadly enemies unless it's over 40 degrees. Why does everyone else like it so much?!
Anyway, back to the outfit! If you have seen my denim lookbook video then you may have spied another way I styled this skirt. For the blog I thought I'd style it a little differently. I think denim may have been one of my favourite fashion pieces this year. Last year all I cared about was jeans. If you'd have told me this time last year I'd be loving a denim midi skirt I would have given you a very weird look! But here it is, and it's love. I also have it in the indigo wash because I really do just love this skirt that much.

Blue & Orange Autumn Transitioning

New Look Mini Skirt HM Blue Sweater 12 New Look Mini Skirt HM Blue Sweater 4 New Look Mini Skirt HM Blue Sweater 3 New Look Mini Skirt HM Blue Sweater 7 New Look Mini Skirt HM Blue Sweater 8 New Look Mini Skirt HM Blue Sweater 5 New Look Mini Skirt HM Blue Sweater 2 New Look Mini Skirt HM Blue Sweater 1 New Look Mini Skirt HM Blue Sweater 6 New Look Mini Skirt HM Blue Sweater 11
skirt - NEW LOOK
jumper - H&M
necklace - a gift from my mum
shoes - CALVIN KLEIN

If you watch my videos then you may remember seeing this skirt crop up in my New Look Haul way back in May. Annoyingly it was a little bit too big to sit on my waist where I wanted it to, so I had to alter it to be a little tighter to fit my waist. This meant that it did sit there unworn for quite a while due to my procrastination about fixing it. In the end, I didn't even alter it, good old mum came to the rescue!
But as it wasn't the right size for ages, I haven't had the chance to wear it all summer, and I started thinking I was never going to get to wear it because autumn is now rolling in. So rather than styling it as I had planned as a summer piece, I thought I'd get a bit summer-autumn transitional and add a light piece of knitwear to go with it to make it September appropriate.
I absolutely love the print on the skirt and the unusual mix of colours. And this new jumper from H&M is a new fave. I think they also have it in a mustard colour, and I'm really after a bit of mustard in my life this season. I think that will be top of my shopping list when I get back from holiday!
