Geiger is My Weakness

kg1 kg2 kg4 kg5 kg3
When you see a sign in the window of a Kurt Geiger outlet store that says "everything £39 and under" you go running in, well I do anyway! I had been lusting after these babies for ages at my local outlet store, but at £79 I couldn't justify them. However when I saw they were down to £39 in the promotion and I had just got my uni results at the time, I had to treat myself. They're so beautiful, I think its love.

Is Blonde For Me?

Ugh my roots look diabolical in these photos taken last week, luckily they have now been taken care of! However it was definitely not a straightforward process, to 'get my roots done' I spent a total of around 6 hours in 2 different hairdressers, hows that for a waste of time! I feel like I'm just not meant to be blonde with all the drama I've had trying to get here. Now I'm back in the debate of whether to stay blonde or go back brunette. Any help in the matter would be much appreciated! :)

The Last Day in France

On the final day in France, me, mum and Luke decided to make the hour and a half drive to Clermont Ferrand for a look around.

La Brocante Afternoon Mooching

Whilst in France my aunt and uncle kept saying we should go to "Fred the Brocante", basically as they explained, a second-hand warehouse/yard/shop. I thought they just called him Fred the Brocante, I didn't realise until we got there that it was actually called that, this delighted me no end, simple minds eh! :)

Where has the hot sunny weather gone to? Come back! I have lots more summery outfits I want to wear! Looking at these pictures of me in France makes me want to be back somewhere hot and sunny, luckily it is now officially less than a month until me and the boy go to Florida! I'm so unbelievably excited for Disneyland, all the rides, and swimming with dolphins, roll on the 14th September :)

Dinner at the lake

Continuing with my posts about what I got up to in France the other week, here's a little one about when we had pizza for dinner down by the lake. First we went into the nearest town, Aubusson, to get our pizzas. The town of Aubusson is really beautiful and old style French so it was nice to have a wander in the early evening.

Looking rather dressed down but who needs to dress up for pizza at the lake!

The pizzas we had were absolutely delicious, made in a proper stone bread oven, all floury and cheesy, perfect! We didn't take cutlery so we just got stuck in and ripped pieces off.

There's the family getting stuck in!

This lake has a bit of meaning to our family as most of my family on my mums side went down for a holiday together in 2003, making it 10 years this year since we went. It was a great holiday together and we have a home movie of it that I recently put onto DVD. In this DVD, a 12 year old me climbed to the top of this climbing frame and sat there looking out to the lake on my own. What can I say, I liked going off on my own and being a loner when I was a kid, probably something to do with being an only child! Ha. But I just had to climb to the top of it again for a 10 year reunion. A lot has changed in those 10 years so it was nice to go back and think about the lovely memories I have from that holiday and with all my family.

I'm glad we all went back for a reminisce, and it was nice to show the boyf a snippet of my childhood. Maybe I'll be back there in another ten years for a 20 year reunion?
Do you like going back to places you visited when you were little?

Where I Spent The Past Week

Last week I went to visit my Aunt and Uncle down at their house in the middle of France. So this is just a quick post to show their house and lifestyle. They bought the house in 1998 and have spent since then completely renovating it to what you can see here. You wouldn't recognise it if you saw how they started!

They also own a fair bit of land around the house and even have an old tractor and horses. Their plans for the future are to run a motocross bed and breakfast type business from their house and the house they own next door.

They have 3 dogs alongside the two horses. Above is Murphy (or Smurf as I call him), he's my fave, below is Bruno, and they also have a girl, the sister of Bruno, called Scout.

The horses are called Duchess and Black Beauty.

So there you have it, where I spent the last week. It is very remote, with only 3 houses in their lane, 2 of which they own. It was extremely peaceful. I couldn't live there full time but it was a lovely week away with my family to escape from it all. I have a couple of outfit and lifestyle posts planned to show what I wore and got up to while we were there. So keep an eye out for those over the next week.
Are you a country bumpkin like this or do you prefer the hustle and bustle of a city?

Grad Ball

Currently I am down in the middle of nowhere rural France visiting my family so the internet connection is a bit hit and miss so I haven't really been able to blog. We arrived last Monday and we go home again on Tuesday. I've been desperate to get this little post up about what I wore to Luke's Grad Ball a couple of weeks ago but I haven't had the time with going away and the internet not being the best here. So here it finally is. I wish we could have taken more photos because I don't have a proper photo of me and the boy other than the blurry iPhone one above *sad face*. But these were the best ones to show what I wore. My dress was this one from TFNC, I wore Kurt Geiger heels and Chanel Rouge Allure Lipstick in 102 Palpitante. I have a few posts lined up about what we have got up to down here in France as well as some outfit ones, so hopefully I will have the time and internet soon to be able to sort some of them out. Anyway, best get back to family socialising! Hope you're having a nice first week of August wherever you are! :)
