She's Like So Whatever

Dress - River Island
Denim Jacket - Zara
Shoes - Converse

Me and the boyf are one step closer to booking a last minute holiday! We've chosen where we want to go and now we just need to book, as long as the price doesn't go up before we sit down to actually book. I'm getting so excited for some sun and pool time! Last night I ordered two new bikinis and today we went to town to look round the shops for any holiday clothes. Town was a big let down and we found absolutely nothing, so hopefully my bikinis turn up tomorrow and are ok! I probably don't technically need any new clothes to go on holiday, but its just part of the fun of going on holiday :)
Are you going on holiday this year?

This song popped up on my iPod the other day in the car and reminded me of my love for it! Haha

We Can't Tell The Future

Jeans - Topshop Leigh
Jumper - H&M
Shirt - Asda
Shoes - Primark

Just a quick post today of an outfit I wore a while ago and haven't got round to blogging yet. Currently me and the boy are looking at a cheap European sun holiday to go on in about two weeks time, but we can't decide where to go, we just want some sun! Even though the weather in the UK has been relatively ok the past few weeks, it isn't quite pool and sunbathing weather.
Other than that I haven't really been doing much, just making the most of my free time before I have to sort out a job. I also moved all of my furniture out of my uni house yesterday, its officially all coming to an end!
Anyway, better get back to holiday searching!

I loved the original of this song because of the lyrics, but this version just makes it more upbeat and dancey :)

Cloth

With just two issues, this magazine has become one of my new favourite things. I was given the issue shown here by my nan. Now usually my nan passes onto me her copy of Prima magazine and tells me theres a great pattern in it or something that I will like, which is very sweet of her, but for want of a better phrase, Prima is catered to the older woman, not really someone my age. So I usually take the magazine, say thank you and don't give it another look. This is what happened with this magazine. However by chance I saw this issue in Asda a couple of weeks later and decided to have a look for some reason, and I was really surprised by what I saw. Its basically a fashion and craft magazine, but much more appropriate for someone my age. It features loads of great little ideas for upcycling clothes, fashion fixes, style advice, and making things from scratch. In the issue shown here you were given the full pattern for the pinafore on the cover. After realising how great this issue was in Asda, I swiftly found my copy at home and read it cover to cover.

A couple of highlights in this issue include the dip-dye ideas above, and the book clutch shown below. All of the ideas are pretty simple and straightforward, its not as if you have to be a skilled sew-er in order to be able to make the things featured.

After mentioning to my nan how great it was, she was kind enough to say I could have a years subscription to it, I do love that old girl! haha. I think she's desperate for me to carry on the sewing and knitting side of our family that my mum and aunty followed on from her.
The next issue I received was issue 19, which I think is even better than this one. This magazine has definitely brought back my sewing bug, I find myself analysing outfits on Pinterest and blogs, thinking 'well I could make that', then vowing to make it at some point. I think this summer I'm just going to be going crazy making things after being inspired by this magazine! Maybe I'll have to start an Etsy shop! Watch this space haha.
If you want to find out more about Cloth then their website is www.cloth.co.uk, I think it comes out once a month, I'm not sure what date, and is £4.99 for each issue I think. It may seem a bit expensive, but when with all the great ideas in it and the free patterns now and again, I think its worth it.
Heres to a summer of creativity! :)

The Music That We Make Gonna Last Forever

Top - Topshop
Jeans - Topshop Leigh
Shoes - Converse
Necklace - Topshop

Today I went to the fabric shop and bought several patterns to make some new clothes for myself, the sewing bug has well and truly caught me again. I don't know how well any of them will turn out or when they will get made but hopefully one of the things I'm planning on making will be done in the next couple of weeks so stay tuned for that! Or maybe not, depending on how well it turns out! haha. Other than that I've not got much else going on to chat about. Other than my new crazy idea to work for a year and then go travelling instead of getting a proper job yet. I just have far too many ideas buzzing around in my head, I don't feel like I'm ready to settle down into the job world yet! Anyway I should really go to sleep now seeing as its 3.30am, hope you've had a good Monday! :)

I love this song, its so upbeat and reminds me of my first holiday with the boy.

Sheer and Sunny

This is what I wore out to a meal at the beginning of the week. Featuring my new Topshop Joni jeans the boy got me for my birthday. It was supposed to be a meal and then a night out, but the night out was an epic fail, so I'm glad we went for the meal! Been a bit busy this week because I came home for a few days. Off back to me and the boy's uni towns tomorrow though for the last 2 weeks before we move out, I can't believe its almost over!
Hope you've had a nice week! :)

Adventuring in the New Forest

In our efforts to make the most of the sunshine and do some new things, last Thursday the boy and I decided to venture to the New Forest. In case you don't know, the New Forest is a National Park in the South of England, famous for its wild horses that roam throughout.

Another Year Older!

So yesterday was my 22nd birthday. I can't believe how quickly the past year has gone. Above is the comparison of how I have changed over the past year. The main changes are obviously the colour of my hair and where it is parted. I feel like I look much older now, but that might just be me! This time last year I was in New York at a New York Yankees vs the New York Mets baseball game, and spent the day of my birthday touring New York on an open top bus, viewing the city from the Top of the Rock and the Empire State Building. So this year's celebrations were quite a bit quieter!

For my birthday this year I just had a quiet day with my mum, nan, dog and boyf. We went for a meal and then didn't do much else. Is this what the rest of my birthdays have in store? I feel like I've run out of all the fun ones and its just downhill from here!

For the meal I dressed up a bit, being the birthday girl and all. My top is from George at Asda, trousers are Topshop, shoes are New Look and my necklace was a present from my mum.

You can see my photographer boyf's shadow in this one, he wasn't very patient with me taking photos because he was missing Johnny English on TV so the photos aren't great but I just wanted a few snaps to document the day. I posted some photos of the day on my instagram if you want to see any of those :)
So that was my quiet birthday, I think I want to do something big and exciting next year to stop me feeling sad about being 23! Don't go too quickly this next year, I don't fancy being 23!
Hope you had a nice day in the sunshine if you still had some where you are yesterday :)

The most apt song obviously.

If You Steal My Sunshine

Yesterday was another sunny one for us so we got outside again to make the most of it. This time we went for a trip to my mum's little holiday caravan she has down here in the South of England. My mum was down for the night so we wanted to make the most of it. We also popped to a new shopping area that has just opened down here, Whiteley.

Whiteley sits on the same site where an outlet shopping centre used to. This was demolished in 2011 shortly after my mum bought her caravan and since then this new centre has been in development. It is now finally opened! Unlike the old shopping centre, these are not outlet stores, they are ordinary high street stores. It is not a huge area for shopping but it does have a fair few good shops that I like such as Boots (which is quite big), Topshop/Topman, River Island, Schuh, H&M, Paperchase, and many more. It also has a selection of restaurants if you want to eat there too.

The way in which it has been laid out and designed is lovely. It is very open and airy, with trees and glass fronted shops, and wood panelling details. They also have these cute little animal statues here and there which just give it that little bit extra. I thought they were a great little detail!

If you want to find out more about Whiteley then visit their website here.

After Whiteley we then headed over to my mum's holiday caravan.

When we got back we got the boy to build the BBQ and start the coals going, he definitely has his uses! ;)

Me and mum got the food ready and relaxed on the decking in the sunshine with my iPod on, perfect!

My mum, engrossed in her phone as usual!

I then persuaded the boy to take some outfit photos for me, even though my pasty skin was out in full force again.

Skirt - River Island. Top - H&M. Belt - Primark. Sunglasses - H&M. Name Necklace - Ebay.

We didn't have a big feast as there was only 3 of us and it was a last minute decision, just some burgers, sausages, potatoes, crisps and corn on the cob. We decided we will do a bigger and better one in a couple of weeks when we have more time.

Just a little shot inside my mums 'palace' as she calls it, its her little safe haven away from the stresses of her work life at home. Please excuse the mess, according to my mum yesterday, "she just doesn't care!". Oh the joys that await me when I move home with her in a few weeks! haha. All in all it was a great little day. Today me and the boy have been on another adventure so I will be posting the pictures of that tomorrow. It makes it so much more fun and easy to get out there and do things when the weather is nice, please stick around English sunshine!

Speaking of sunshine, this is such a perfect 90s song for it, go on, have a listen! It'll make you feel all summery ;)

Hello Sailor

Shirt - Topman. Dress - Topshop. Necklace - Topshop. Pasty Skin Colour - All my own.

My awkward tourist face.

Yesterday was one of those days where you try to take outfit photos and you just hate all of them. So here are a selected few of the ones that I didn't completely hate. Another day of just getting out of the house and having an adventure around in the sunshine. In the morning I went and packed up more of my uni room, it really feels like its getting to the end now! Then in the afternoon me and the boy went for a wander down to the Southsea Common to meet some others. The boys had a kickabout (as they do) and I had a read of my book, perfect! Then in the evening we all watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the boy is now halfway through his Harry Potter education. We quiz him after the movies to check he's paying attention haha. I definitely want to make this the best summer ever before I  have to become an adult!

I love this song, favourite line that I like to sing loudly - "you're from the 70s but I'm a 90s b*tch"

i fell in love at the seaside

As the weather has been so beautiful recently, the boy and I have decided we need to make the most of it and adventure a bit before we leave our uni towns! That decided, we have now been to different parts of the Portsmouth coastline twice over the past week.

Its very pretty along the Portsmouth coastline and today we found these adorable pastel beach huts, I love them!

It clearly takes 3 arms to take one photo! (see the reflection in our glasses?)

posing shmosing

just because we're cheesy like that

Me Instagramming! Its gotta be done! And I'm loving the Beautiful Mess app for photos, made by the creators of the A Beautiful Mess blog Elsie and Emma. I'm trying not to use it on every photo I post, but its very hard to resist with the cute girly nature of it! Follow me on instagram - @robyncaitlin if you want to see the photos I've used it on. Now I just need to resist buying all the add on packs you can get for it!

The boy said take a photo of me hiding behind this bush (I'm not sure why either) and then proceeded to throw stones in my direction! See one of the said stones just above his head. Boys are so annoying aren't they! The rest of this week we are hoping to do some more adventuring around the area and making the most of the weather! Is it nice weather where you are?

Both times we have been to the beach I've had to sing this song, its just perfect. I miss The Kooks!

Shooby-Doo-Wop & Scooby Snacks

Blazer - Primark
Tshirt - Primark Mens
Jeans - New Look
Shoes - Converse
Bracelets - Topshop

It's been such a busy week for me. Monday was great with the Bank Holiday, I spent it walking down to the seafront with the boy and getting fish & chips for dinner. Tuesday I went back home with a whole load of my stuff from uni, the start of moving out! On Wednesday and Thursday I spent my time at home wondering where I'm going to put all my stuff when its all fully back home. We do not have enough space in my house. I also spent ages converting our old home movies from the little video-camera tapes to my laptop so that we can make them into DVDs. I am currently still doing this and it is taking hours! On Thursday night I went to see Hangover 3 with my mum, not the funniest of the three but we thought it was a nice closing to the trilogy. Then on Friday I came back down to uni to go the boy's private view of his final work at his uni. If you're in the Portsmouth area then you should definitely go and check out their graduate show in the Eldon Building from the 3rd-14th June (weekdays only). They've got some really great work on show from all their creative courses including graphic design, fashion, photography, illustration and more. And then today (technically now yesterday) I have spent the entire day converting more home movies. This evening I started the boy's education into the Harry Potter films, he's only watched the first two! What an absolute tragedy! We need to get him clued up so hes ready for our trip to Harry Potter world in Florida at the end of the summer! Anyway ramble over, hope you've had a good week! :)

Anyone love this song like me? I love a good song from when I was growing up (I was 8 when it came out)
