What I Got For Christmas

As a disclaimer before I start this post, I am in no way bragging about what I got for Christmas, I enjoy reading other people's posts like this so I thought I would do one myself. I like reading them because they give me ideas of what I could look for in the sales or add to my wish list, and just because I'm a bit nosey! I am very grateful for everything I received for Christmas this year and am very thankful to all my generous family and friends. I haven't included every single thing in this post, just the main bits and bobs.
In the above picture are a few of the DVDs I was given, one of which being the JLS Goodbye Tour DVD. Me and my mum went to see the concert on the 21st December and she apparently ordered it the next day and amazingly it turned up in time for Christmas! So thats a nice little memory from that evening of my lovely JLS boys.

above - The Little Mermaid DVD, JLS Goodbye Tour DVD, The Hangover Trilogy BluRay, Topshop bag, Camo Print Converse, Topshop Heels

I always love to get books at Christmas and I was lucky enough to be given all these this year. I actually chose the joke book myself for my stocking from my boyfriend, I'm quite simple minded and silly jokes make me laugh so much, my favourite one so far is 'Whats blue and square???   ....... An orange in disguise!' I'm very easily pleased haha.

My mum got me the big Soap & Glory box set this year which I was really excited about, and my boyfriend also got me a couple more Soap & Glory bits and Lush goodies. So I will be pampering myself in the new year!

Ciate Caviar Manicure, Ciate Velvet Manicure, Essie Stroke of Brilliance, Elegant Touch House of Holland Get Nailed Set, Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm, Alpha H Liquid Gold, Lady Million Perfume

The Ciate sets from my mum I actually knew about as she got them at the Clothes Show Live for £5 each, but the House of Holland set was a surprise that I didn't even know she had heard me say! So I look forward to trying out lots of different nail looks! And I was very excited to be given the Emma Hardie cleansing balm by my boyfriend as I love it so much. He wrote on the tag that he bought it for me 'because it makes your face so soft', so actual proof from a boy that it does work!

One of my main presents this year was the gorgeous red dress in the picture above. When I was searching for a dress for graduation back in November I tried on this dress and fell in love with it, but decided that as my robes were partly purple, and the dress code said dark clothes, I shouldn't get it. I was completely lovesick for it and I was so excited that my mum had bought it for me when I opened it on Christmas day. Its something I would wear for a dressed up occasion, so I can't wait for an opportunity to wear it! The other two things in the picture were from my boyfriends family, I love them both so much! I wanted a tartan skirt for ages and this is the perfect one, its brushed cotton so its very cosy and wintery!

I was also given quite a few other things including chocolates, pjs, vouchers, and other nice bits. I am so thankful to everyone who gave me a present, and I hope everyone I gave a present to liked what I gave them. I actually made quite a few presents this year for people as I wanted to make use of my sewing machine, and I was really pleased how they turned out. It made me feel really good actually putting my time into gifts for my family and friends.
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas with your friends and family and got nice gifts too! And seeing as a took a week off blogging over Christmas, here is my belated Merry Christmas to you!

Stila 'Color Outside the Lines' Eye Liner Set

stila1 stila2 stila3
Stila 'Color Outside the Lines' Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner Set - £36 at Space NK

As I have mentioned in a previous post, I was interning at ASOS the week of their Christmas press and blogger party and helped out at the event. At this event there was a Father Christmas giving out presents (half of which I wrapped), and at the end of the event, me and the other interns were lucky enough to be given one of these presents and I got this Stila eye liner set. I was pretty happy about this because I had been eye-ing it up whilst wrapping it! In the tin there are 5 different eye liners to choose from. I have so far only used the black one but I can see myself definitely using the brown shade as well. I think I will try the purple and blue shades for more of a party occasion. The only shade I can't see myself using is the turquoise eye liner, its a bit out-there for me! The eye liners are definitely very smudgy and easy to use, I also like that they are the 'twist-up' format, I much prefer eye liners like that, rather than ones you need to sharpen. My only worry is that they will run out fast because they are so smudgy so it feels like you use a lot of it in one go. But we shall see! Overall I am very grateful to have been given this and I really like it!

Now we all know why I don't write many beauty posts, Im not too good at describing the old beauty products!

New In

leopardshoes2 leopardshoes
Shoes - ASOS - £18

I was given a voucher for ASOS as a present for my graduation and when I was browsing the site wondering what to spend it on I found these beauties. I had been lusting after a pair of leopard print slip on shoes like these after seeing the Sandro ones and falling in love, then discovering that Gap had a similar pair but were out of stock everywhere, at this point I resigned myself to the fact they weren't meant to be. Until ASOS came in and saved the day, well done ASOS! And the cheapest of the bunch too! Money well spent.

Jumper - George at Asda
Shirt - Topman
Shorts - H&M
Boots - Office

I graduate on Friday!! My dress has been chosen, hair has been cut and coloured, hotel has been booked and tomorrow night I head down to my uni town to graduate on Friday morning! I'm so excited, but also so nervous. Like other people I'm just scared I will fall on stage, but that fear won't stop me wearing some beautiful heels, oh no. Hopefully the weather holds out too so I can get some nice photos outside in my gown and things, so I'll have my fingers crossed until Friday to hope for the best. Im also quite excited about going back to my uni town, I have missed it. Its so strange to live somewhere for 3 years then all of a sudden you can't anymore. Its sad to say a final goodbye to the uni life, but it was an experience that taught me so much and is something I would never take back. Moving away for uni was most definitely the best decision for me personally. I just wish I could have another year or two living down there (in a nice house that is! student housing was not my favourite thing to say the least).
Also, this jumper is the cosiest thing! Hope you're having a good week! :)

All in Black

batwing1 batwing2 batwing3 batwing4 batwing5
Blouse - Primark
Jeans - Topshop Leigh
Shoes - Primark
Necklace - Topshop

For two of the days of my internship we had to wear all black, and I actually quite liked how it looked so I thought I would do a little blog post of the outfit. I feel like I haven't blogged in SO long because I just haven't had the time to take any photos because of how dark it is at night. I do miss doing it, hopefully I will be able to get back into it soon. I have some posts lined up for this week so that should be the start of it!
How is your November going so far?

October Haul

Due to being at my internship since the beginning of last week and having literally no time at the weekend to take any blog photos, I don't think I'm really going to be able to blog this week. Damn the evenings for being so dark and stopping me doing outfit photos! However, I have managed to edit and upload my October Haul for my YouTube channel, despite many issues with the new iMovie. I hate it, bring back the old one or change the new one please Apple! Anyway long winded rant/explanation over, here is my October Haul video, and next week I definitely will have blog posts sorted to go up! :)

Halloween Outfit

IMG_1983 IMG_1995

I went to a Halloween party last weekend and here is what I wore/looked like. For a while I had been looking on Pinterest for Halloween make-up inspiration and I found some great examples of creepy dolls, so I decided thats what I wanted to be. I used this image as my main inspiration. I used white and black Snazaroo face paints from the fancy dress shop, MAC Russian Red lipstick on my lips, Ardell and Eylure eyelashes on my eyelids and under my eyes, and MAC Briar Rose Beauty Powder on my cheeks (from the MAC Disney Venomous Villains collection).
For my outfit I just wore a Little Miss Muffet dress I had worn before, some cream tights from Primark (cannot be seen in these photos) which I ripped and added blood to, and a black bow detail headband from Accessorize.
So there is my Halloween outfit. Maybe I should find something else to wear and go out trick or treating tonight? I might be a bit too old for trick or treating, but anything for free sweets hey!
Hope you have a scary Halloween!

p.s. did you watch that Release the Hounds on ITV2 the other night? I thought it was terrifying!

Truffle Shuffle Wish List

Truffle Shuffle is a website that I used to love browsing on all the time for all the retro and quirky clothing and accessories that they sell. It's kind of like reliving your childhood because it sparks your memory about TV shows and things that you used to watch and love. I haven't been on there for a while but I recently went on and rediscovered my love for the majority of the website. So I put together a little wish list of a select few things I would love to add to my basket (if I had the money!). My absolute favourite pick is the vintage toys jumper, I mean its got Tamagotchis and proper Polly Pockets on it! And a Doctor Who Tardis teapot? Everyone needs one of those!
Do you like anything on the Truffle Shuffle website?

Life Happens

This week I planned to be so on it with blogging and post every weekday, but life got in the way and I've had no time to photograph any outfits or put together the wish list I had planned to do. So instead I thought I'd have a little reminisce back to last month when I went to Florida and put together a post of a few snaps of my trip and some of the things I wore.

What To Do If You Like Something

When its £2 in Primark, you buy it in every colour they have in the shop obviously. I went to the scarves and hats area of Primark looking for the black beanie I've seen on one of their in-store adverts, and tried on four other colours whilst I was there, and accidentally happened to put those four into my basket. I mean what can you do? These things happen sometimes!
In other news, I've uploaded a new video on my YouTube channel, the 50 Facts About Me tag. Now I warn you, some of these are very embarrassing and I don't know if I should have opened up my weird-ness on the internet, but oh well, lets call it 'interesting' instead of weird maybe?

Recently In

Zara Two-Sided Scarf
This scarf is so snuggly and huge it's like a shawl as well, I love a two in one!

River Island Sunglasses
I've wanted these sunglasses for ages after seeing them on Lily Melrose (I think they're these ones anyway!), but they weren't online or in any shops I went to. I finally found them in Brighton this weekend. I know its not summer anymore but sunglasses are always a must.

Primark Christmas Jumper
Me and Luke wanted to get tacky Christmas jumpers so we went into Primark at the weekend and each tried on about 6 different jumpers. I settled on the Robin bird one, it was just made for me! I do kind of want to get another one but I don't know if its just a waste of money?

In other news, I am loving Avicii's album, my favourite song is 'Dear Boy', I have got that on all the time at the moment!

The Autumn Edit Lust-list

After searching online to compile a little Autumn edit/lust-list, I found so much stuff that I liked that I decided to separate it into a few key areas for the Autumn wardrobe, so here we have coats/jackets, boots, hats & scarves and jumpers! A long wish list, obviously one that I won't be buying every item, just a bit of Autumn inspiration for my wardrobe!

Coats & Jackets -

autumn wishlist coats
I looked on a few websites for coats and jackets but when I made my way to ASOS I fell in love with so many things, their new season stuff is amazing! Each of these coats are beautiful but I think my favourite is the leather hooded parka.

Boots -

autumn wishlist boots
There are a lot of different boots around on the high street at the moment but I think my personal favourites are flat beige ankle boots from Zara (number 2), they're fur lined and just look so snuggly!
1. Open Ankle Boot Style Court Shoe  2. Flat Ankle Boot  3. Black Dallas Chelsea Boot  4. PAGO Buckle Chelsea Boot   5. Red or Dead Grace ii Boots  6. WOOD Kurt Geiger Boots

Hats -

autumn wishlist hats

A little while ago I wrote a post about my woolly hat collection, they're my favourite autumn/winter accessory. I love the eyebrow hat from ASOS for a bit of quirky Autumn style.
1. Eyebrow Pom Pom Beanie  2. Wool Mix Cable Funnel Snood  3. Faux Fur Ears Cossack Hat  4. Faux Fur Cossack Burgundy  5. Faux Fur Snood

Jumpers -

autumn wishlist jumpers
Snuggly jumpers are an Autumn must. My favourite is the whole outfit in the centre, I'm also pretty fond of the deep purple jumper bottom right. Early christmas list anyone?

So there we have it, my Autumn high-street current favourites! What are you lusting after this Autumn?
