The empties #1

I love watching empties videos on YouTube. I feel that they're the best type of beauty product video because people have genuinely used up all of the product and gained a proper view of the product and can give it an accurate review. I am definitely not wanting to become a YouTuber any time soon (my high pitched child voice is one of the big issues haha). So instead I thought I'd write a blogpost on some of my empties I have gathered over the last few weeks, and here it is :)

Instagram #3

This week I decided to use my sewing skills to good use and start making myself a dress. It's so far unfinished as I ran out of fabric for the skirt half of the dress, fail. Hopefully it turns out ok though :)

We popped to France for the day...

Last week we decided to go on a day trip to France. As we only live about half an hour from Dover, and then the ferry crossing is just over an hour to Calais, it isn't really that far. These are some pictures from the day...

new shoes...

The other week I actually bought myself some nice flat shoes. I always buy cheap toot from Primark and New Look etc that do nothing for my feet. I'm willing to spend quite a bit of money on high heels but when it comes to flats I spend less than £20, and considering I wear flats 90% of the time I decided it was time to treat my feet to a little better. So I picked up these 3 gorgeous pairs from the Kurt Geiger outlet shop in Gunwharf Quays last week. From now on I am definitely going to spend more on flats, I actually chucked my beloved New Look ballet flats in the bin (the hole in the sole was so big my feet were touching pavement). I also have creepers on my wish list but the boyf said he'll disown me if I get those, maybe I'll just have to get some and not wear them around him ;)

Whats the difference?...

So I finally got my hands on some Bioderma, but I think I might have bought the wrong thing, I'm not too sure. I bought it in a shop called Marionnaud in France and it was the only one they had so I assumed it was what I wanted, but then I went into a Carrefour supermarket and they had loads of stock. There were 2 types, one that said Crealine TS H20 and one that said Crealine H20, I have the one that says TS. I don't know what difference this makes, but I've used it a couple of times and had no adverse effects. Next time I'll get the other one that everyone else has! I also got the Caudalie Beauty Elixir, only used this once so far so I'm not sure what I think yet. Not too keen on the smell though. Finally I bought 3 Soap and Glory body scrubs because they were on 3 for 2 and I needed a new body scrub (so why not get three while I was at it?). I need more storage for my new found love for skin care though, I've already taken over the whole of the bathroom cabinet!

(friday) song day #13...

So it isn't friday but I crashed out after a really long day on friday so I didn't have time to post this, and I haven't had good internet and only had my iPad with me yesterday and today so I've only just got round to this post. But I love this song so much, and I love the video Joey Graceffa and Tanya Burr have done of it on Joey's YouTube channel, I love their videos :)

awkward stares...

Top: H&M
Trousers: River Island
Shoes: River Island

I love my new trousers from the River Island sale, they were only £10 I think, they feel really silky and I love the print on them. I only tend to wear jeans, I never wear actual trousers so I thought I'd get some different trousers to wear and when I saw these they just jumped out at me. I love the River Island sales, I always seem to find loads, and I find things I wouldn't normally look at. The recent sale was no exception and I came out with 3 pairs of trousers, a skirt, a loose kimono-y jacket and an embellished little shrug, all for just £75! I thought that was pretty good going. Anyway, back to the trousers, I wore them while I was on work experience in London last week, and all day I kept getting funny looks. People would look at my face, down at my trousers, and then back at my face and give me a funny look! Clearly other people aren't as keen on my new trews as I am, the boyf being one of these people. Oh well, I love them and thats all that matters :)

changeable weather...

Top: Topshop
Leggings: Primark
Shoes: River Island
Belt (just seen): Primark

This is something I wore to work experience last week but have only just gotten round to posting it. I always forget I have this top because I expect it to not look right on me. This is because I bought it from  the Topshop website in the sale a couple of years ago but they only had a size 10, I bought it anyway. It then hung around for ages in my drawers not being worn because I thought it looked too big. I then had another look at it and decided to alter it a bit, I took off the front pockets because they sat wrong with me and looked out of place, and I took the sleeves in because they were huge. Now I actually really like it but I forget I have it because I never used to wear it. I think I need to go through the rest of my drawers and wardrobe and see if there are any other gems that aren't being worn because there's something I don't like about them, and then alter them so I can wear them. I didn't do fashion and textiles at A level and foundation for nothing! :)

work experience is bad for my bank account...

Over this past week I have gone a bit spending crazy. Being so close to shops and Boots in London while I'm on work experience is definitely bad news, I keep spending all my money on new skincare and make-up bits! Sorry for the bad picture as well, the light was fading so I think I've over-photoshopped the brightness a bit! Anyway over the past week I have bought, Benefit Porefessional (had to buy this after my sample free in Glamour dried up), St Ives Apricot Scrub Blemish Fighting, Origins Drink Up Intensive Mask (travel size), Origins Clear Improvement Mask (travel size), Origins Super Spot Remover, Topshop Lipstick in Innocent, Revlon Lip Butters in Candy Apple and Peach Parfait and Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey. For me, all of that in a week is a lot! I need to stop spending, and a lot of it is because of seeing things on my favourite blogs and youtube channels such as ETCLLYMLRSVivianna Does Makeup and Essie Button. I need more willpower! My bank account cant cope with this haha.

Cath Kidston-aholic...

This weekend I went into the Cath Kidston shop at the Gunwharf Quays Outlet in Portsmouth looking for a travel card holder for my oyster card and look at all these goodies I came out with! I could have easily bought more but I had to restrain myself. I'm gradually building quite a big collection of Cath Kidston bits, I'm lusting after their aprons at the moment, not that I cook haha, they're just so cute that I want one anyway! All of the bits in the photo above only cost me £23, absolute bargain. Each of the phone cases were originally £24.95 each, and were just £8 each in the outlet store, this is why I love going to the outlet shops so much. I also got a travel card holder for £3 and a little makeup bag for my handbag for £4. I also bought some other bits at the outlet but I'll post about them later in the week :)

instagram #1

I love looking at other people's instagram posts, most of my favourite bloggers now do weekly or frequent instagram posts. I don't have an iPhone, but now I have my iPad I've been getting into instagram a bit and I love it. My Blackberry is definitely being ditched when my contract ends next April, I need instagram and good apps in my life! Sort it out Blackberry! Anyway, as I only have instagram on my iPad I thought I'd start doing an instagram post each week but as I don't take that many photos on it, I'll just do a photo of the week, and heres my first one! I absolutely had to buy this tin of biscuits from Marks and Spencer, its so cute! I think I'm going to use it for make up or nail varnishes once the biscuits are gone :)
