special guest star...

Blouse: vintage
Jeans: Topshop Leigh jeans
Shoes: New Look

T-shirt: Urban Outfitters
Hoody: Primark
Jeans: H&M
Shoes: Adidas

Bit of a different outfit post this time as the boyf was at mine when I was taking my photos and he wanted to get involved and have a few outfit photos of his own haha. It felt so weird having someone watch me doing my outfit photos for the first time but I got past it a few snaps in. Went shopping yesterday with the boyf and got a few new bits which I will have to post about soon. I love this blouse, I got it at the Clotheshow Live vintage section last December and it was only £12. Its so floaty and loose and I love the little detail on the front of it. Yet again wearing a pair of Topshop Leigh jeans, I feel like I wear them the majority of days because they're just so cosy and I now have them in several colours. One thing I need to change is how much I wear my ballet pumps. I have seriously flat feet and these absolutely kill my feet if I walk round in them for hours like I did yesterday. I need to wean off them but they're so easy and fit with so many outfits :( damn my flat feet. The boyfs outfit includes the Saved by the Bell Kelly Kapowski t-shirt I got him for valentines day. I'm glad he's getting enthusiastic about my blog, makes me feel better about doing it, like someones there to support me posting on it and putting my stamp on things. I might make him a more regular feature on here, maybe do his own outfit posts, just as a little extra element to add to my blog. Not too sure yet but its just another idea floating round my head in a sea of many at the moment :)

p.s. one more little thing, a little outtake where I jumped in on his photo;

he's so cute <3

busy bee...

Just a little preview picture of my outfit post tomorrow. The boyf is at mine today so he took some photos of me taking my outfit photos, it was a bit weird having him watch me haha. At the moment I am so busy with uni work as I have my first deadline of term on the 12th march so I'm really starting to panic that I'm not going to get it done, just going to have to work like a trooper for the next few days. The only annoying thing about this is that I have so many posts I want to do right now. I definitely am a bit post overloading in my brain. I'm just going to have to write down all the post ideas down that I want to write and write them whenever I have time :(. So the continuity of when I've done things and seen things and then posted about them won't be quite right but for now its going to have to do. Since I started properly writing my blog a few weeks ago, I've become more and more addicted. I would love to post like 5 times a day but thats just not possible and it would seem pretty spammy and all over the place. I'm just going to have to curb my posting before my deadline and try not to feel bad about not doing posts and stop being so addicted to blogger
*major sad face*

red bows on shiny shoes...

Coat: Barbour
Polo shirt: Asda
Necktie: FabricLand
Jeans: Topshop Leigh jeans
Shoes: Adidas
Bag (just seen): Twenty8Twelve

This is what I wore yesterday to London Fashion Weekend with my mum. I wanted something comfy for walking around all day in, but still to look alright in. After a mini fashion show of loads of different outfits with the boyfs housemates the night before (cringe haha) I decided to wear this. This is the first time I have worn these shoes and I absolutely love them. Also I constantly wear my Barbour jacket at the moment, I want to do a post about it but I just need to actually get round to doing it. I didn't buy anything at London Fashion Weekend but I did go to Selfridges and buy a pair of black Topshop Leigh jeans, I now have 4 different pairs of Leigh jeans, all bought in the last month, I think I have a bit of a problem ! They just fit so well and are soooo comfy! This isn't my previous outfit post style where I've taken them in my room, but I wanted to show this outfit and I wasn't at home to take a cheeky picture before I left so I thought I would get my mum to take one and that would suffice. The pictures I took of my shoes were on the train on the way home when I was fiddling around learning how to manual focus my camera. I think I need to learn how to do a bit more on my camera so its used to its full abilities!

blog schedule...

I feel like I need some sort of blog schedule so that my posting is more regular and laid out. I think from now on, I plan to post 3, maybe 4, outfit posts a week. I'm not too sure what days, maybe mondays, wednesdays and saturdays? I'll just figure that out a bit later on. I want to do my film of the week post every sunday, and I'm thinking a music video on fridays just to get in that friday mood :). I started off doing my weekly photos posts, but  just thought they looked a bit rubbish, so I don't think I want to do that anymore. Also, I started my photography blog since so I think i'll just try and post more everyday pictures on there :)
So that leaves 2 days free. On these 2 days I think i'll just do random fashion related posts. And if theres anything else I particularly want to blog then i'll just post that whenever I fancy. I think if I do this schedule then it'll make my blog better and make me blog more.
Also, after watching countless youtube videos recently, I thought that I really want to start doing youtube videos. I have absolutely no idea what I would do them about and it probably won't happen, just a silly little idea haha

London Fashion Week...

l-r: Mulberry, Temperley London, PPQ, Burberry, McQ

Now that London Fashion Week has come to a close I thought I would do a little roundup of my favourite shows. My favourite looks from each of these shows are above. I can't really pinpoint exactly what makes me love these particular shows but it's mostly to do with the prints, fabrics and silhouettes. In general I like quite feminine silhouettes and these shows definitely showed that. I also don't really like anything too 'out-there' or 'grungy', these shows were neither of these things, they were sophisticated, elegant and unique. I think my favourite show of all has to be the Burberry show due to the theatrics of the rain and the fact that I loved every single item they showed :). Now I'm looking forward to what Milan and Paris have to show, particularly can't wait for the Viktor & Rolf show, I absolutely love them!

Burberry...

The fake snow in the finale
Clémence Poésy, Eddie Redmayne, Rosie Huntington-Whitely and Mario Testino
The F-Row including Will.i.am, Alexa Chung, those mentioned above and Kate Bosworth
I adore Cara Delevingne
my favourite looks from the show...

So yesterday like many others I decided to watch the live-stream of the Burberry show, and what can I say, it was amazing, I loved every bit of it. I did take some screen shots when it was on to show on here but the quality of them was really bad because of the movement so instead I took these pictures from the Burberry website. There is literally so much I would buy if I could afford it. I loved all the cute bows cinching in the waists, definitely gonna have to try a DIY version of that myself. I loved all the fabrics used as well like the corduroys and tweeds, it seemed so english countryside chic. The finale was absolutely amazing, the rain over the glass roof was such a cute quirky idea that worked with the collection and made their show stand out, and then the models coming out with umbrellas as fake snow began to fall was just beautiful. I <3 Burberry, cannot wait for next season!

i'm a kid at heart...

Jeans: Topshop Leigh jeans
Polo shirt: George at Asda kids school wear
Cardigan: Zara
Shoes: Adidas Sleek Series
Necktie: FabricLand

Sorry that there's so many photos of this outfit but there was so many that I liked and couldn't decide which ones to include. Also, sorry for the super posey-ness, i'm still trying to hone my posing technique haha. Recently I've been thinking that I wanted a white button up long sleeve shirt but I didn't know where I could get a really plain one. Then I had a brainwave. When I've done fancy dress before I wore a kids polo shirt from Asda because it was cheap. As I'm quite small, it actually fitted pretty well so I figured that maybe I could get some long sleeve white shirts from there too. It means they're cheap and exactly what I want. So the other week I went to Asda and ended up buying 4 short sleeve scallop collar polo shirts, 2 long sleeve shirts and one short sleeve shirt for the bargain price of about £17! Not bad if you ask me. The sizes I got were age 13-14 and they fit fine. I'm so chuffed with them, I think i'm gonna have to stock up! :)

Film of the Week #2...

This week I bought and watched Friends With Benefits, starring Justin Timberlake and the beautiful Mila Kunis. I decided to use this as my film of the week because after watching it I decided that I absolutely loved the laid-back style of Mila Kunis' character Jamie. I don't know if it's her personality that adds to the reason why I love her clothing, but she just seems so effortlessly cool. I love her off-duty slouchy tops and jeans/shorts that are so simple but she makes them look quite stylish. I also love her work clothes, the things she puts together are so simple but look business professional with an edge. Its as though her personality comes through in every bit of clothing to make it cool and fun but casual at the same time. If you haven't seen it, then watch it because its amazing!

p.s. i <3 Mila Kunis :)

Live-streaming...

Me watching in bed on my Macbook
The F-ROW
The F-ROW

Love these!!
Last night I went on the Mulberry Facebook page by chance and saw that they were going to live stream their London Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2012 show this morning at 10am. So straight away, like the dedicated fashion student I am ;), I set my alarm for 9.50am to make sure that I was awake and on the Mulberry site in time. These were the screen grabs that I took of the show, hence the bad quality and the blurriness. I just wanted to show that I actually watched it as it happened haha. The pictures of the F-Row are only the people that I THINK I know who they are, so if i'm wrong then i'm sorry and please correct me :). They didn't show much of the F-Row, I wish they'd shown a bit mores I could have done a bit more celeb spotting. I did spot some magazine editors on the other side of the catwalk that I recognise from appearances on TV shows but I didn't want to include any of them just in case I'm wrong. Anyway I loved the show and all the new styles coming in for next season. I loved all the big cosy furry coats and the autumnal colours (apart from the orange, not a big fan) coming through and the thin waisted belts cinching in the coats to add some style to the big chunky clothing. Obviously I loved the new bag the Del Ray, no doubt that one will be flying off the shelves when it comes into stores. So that was my first live-stream show and it was by one of my favourite brands, definitely worth waking up early on my sunday morning :)

chains and ladders...

Shirt: George at Asda
Black tshirt (under shirt): Topshop
Shorts: H&M
Ballet pumps: New Look

Now I know George at Asda wouldn't be your typical go-to place for fashion but I saw this as I walked into Asda the other day and I had to get it. It was in a little section at the front of the shop to show their new in stuff to make you go upstairs and look, and to be honest this was the only good thing they had on offer, but still, I think its so nice! They didnt have a size 8 so I just bought a size 10 but I think it fits fine anyway. And at only a tenner its an absolute bargain! I do know I have a big ladder in my tights but I only realised just before I took these photos and I couldn't be bothered to change just for a photo. So all in all, check out george at Asda and you might find some gems once in a while haha :)

Concept Development...

This is some work that I completed for a uni assignment last term. The unit was called concept development and we had to choose a designer, and then develop a trend suitable for them for the Autumn/Winter 2012 season. I completed a trend board, fabric board and 2 illustration boards. I am really pleased with my trend and fabric boards but I do think my illustrations could do with some work. But i'm still learning photoshop and everything so I don't think my illustrations are TOO bad considering they were my first go at drawing an outfit on photoshop :)

Topshop and Nick Knight...

At uni today our seminar focused on fashion film, and then coincidentally this landed in my email inbox just now from Topshop. The video is a collaboration between SHOWstudio, Nick Knight and Topshop to celebrate Topshop supporting 10 years of British fashion, with London Fashion Week now upon us. The film stars Karlie Kloss and showcases clothing from designers that Topshop have worked with over the years. I love this video because I love British fashion, I'm one of those people that loves homemade talent. Out of all the fashion weeks, I look forward to London the most because I love how such a little country can be so amazing and produce such brilliant fashion. Also, Karlie Kloss looks pretty awesome in this video, as usual :)

skinnies and sleeks...

Hoody: Topshop
Top: Topshop
Jeans: New Look
Shoes: Adidas Sleek Series
Bag: Vintage

This is what I wore to uni today, I wore the jeans and top together a couple of weeks ago and decided I liked the combo of them. Styled it a bit differently today with my hoody and trainers, the other week I wore them with a big cream cosy cardigan and nude ballet pumps. I do love these trainers, my boyfriend saw them at work for me and thought I'd like them, I wasn't too sure at first because I hadn't bought hi-top style trainers like this before but now I absolutely love them. At £10.50 as well, you can't really go wrong.  Also spoke to my future housemate today about lookbook and we've decided when we move in together in July we're gonna be each others official outfit photographers haha. I cannot wait for that because I feel like such a dork on my own in my room with my tripod and remote, I need some company in this. Maybe I'll have to ask the boyf to do my outfit photos in the mean time :)
